It is with
great pleasure that we now have the green light from the ‘CHESS ASSOCIATION OF
QUEENSLAND INC’ in commencing both our Social and Tournament Evenings.
Protocols on recommencing:
- Preparation
in re-opening the Club
- Social
Chess from commencing from 18:30
- Tournament
Chess commences from 19:30
Tournament

Duration:
- Tuesday
14th July, 3 Matches with Alternate pairings
- Tuesday
21st July, 3 Matches with Alternate pairings
- Keeping
our numbers to 16:
- Due to the restrictions
of the 1.5 metre rule still ongoing and the venue room size, we have to
limit the Total amount of people at any one time to 16.
- We normally have less
than 16 players in the club anyway, so this should not be an issue in our
case.
- However, Parents who
would usually hang around all night at the club will be advised they will
no longer be able to do so. They will have other options such as waiting
in the car or at another venue nearby.
- Registry
of Attendees:
- Upon arrival we will be
registering all attendees with the following; Arrival Time, Full Name,
Contact Number, Home Address, Departure time using a numbered sheet so
that we know the count of players for the evening.
- This information is
needed as only used in accordance with the regulations of the current
Covid19 Rules of keeping records of attendees.
- This is to be kept by
the club and also passed onto the venue upon completion of each night.
- They are required to
keep this information for 28 days before getting rid of it.
- Hand
Sanitiser
- Hand sanitiser will be
used at the entry of the building for all people to use when they arrive.
- Small hand sanitiser
pump containers will be stationed at each chess board to allow for
players to use it before each game.
- It is
required/recommended that Hand Sanitisation is undertaken between rounds.
- Cleaning
and Sanitisation
- All chess boards and
pieces need to be sanitised after the club gathering ready for next time.
- All tables, chairs and
high touch surfaces will need to be sanitised.
- The disinfectant used
should be one for which the manufacturer claims antiviral activity,
meaning it can kill the virus, such as chlorine-based disinfectants.
