Participation Grand Prix Bonus Points - 2013 on -
In 2013 the Grand Prix evolved dropping the handicap. Players receive a 3 point bonus for playing in a tournament and points scored in tournaments.
Bonus Points - 2012 only
The
2012 Suncoast Chess Club Participation Handicap Grand Prix has a bonus
system introduced to encourage participation and help lower rated
players close the gap to the top. This system adds bonus points every
time you participate in a grand prix event. Additionally these points
are scaled to give lower rated players an advantage and close the gap in
the grand prix results. The scale is based on ratings from 1 to 2500.
A player on with a rating of 1 would get 5.1 bonus points per grand
prix event participated in, a player with 500 would get 4.1, a player
with 1000 would get 3, a player with 1500 would get 2, a player with
2000 would get 1 and a player with 2500 would get 0.
2009 - 2011 - No bonuses just points scored in tournaments.
